Register Your Terminal to the POS System (POS-Level Linking)
Connect your terminal directly to your POS system to enable seamless payment processing. Once linked, your POS can initiate and manage transactions using your merchant account under the platform. This connection ensures that every transaction you start from your POS is automatically processed and reported in real time.
Before You Link Your New Terminal
Make sure you have everything ready:
- You are subscribed to a POS platform that is integrated with Tap.
- You have requested a terminal device from the Tap sales team.
- Your terminal has active SIM or network connectivity.
- KNET receipts are disabled on your terminal.
- The Acceptance SmartPOS App is installed on your PAX device (via the PAX Store).
Step 1: Complete Your Merchant Registration
- Open the Tap Signup Flow in your POS device.
- Create a new merchant account using your phone number and OTP, or continue using PACI if available.
- Fill in your account holder details and any other required information to complete your merchant profile.
- Once your account is created, you will be redirected to the Connect Board, where you can manage everything—including your terminals—in one place.
Step 2: Link Your Terminal to the POS
- From the Connect Board, select Terminals from your account details screen.
- Click the Link Terminal button.
- Select your POS device from the menu that appears.
- The Connect Board will then generate a QR code and verification code for linking.
What to Do Next on Your Terminal
If your SmartPOS App shows this screen:
This means your terminal is not yet linked to a merchant account.
- Simply scan the QR code or enter the verification code shown on the Connect Board.
- This will register your terminal under your merchant account and link it to your POS system in one step.
If your SmartPOS App opens directly to the payment screen:
This means your terminal is already linked to a merchant account.
- Open the right-side menu on your terminal and select Link POS.
- Then, scan the QR code or enter the verification code from the Connect Board.
- Once linked, your terminal’s MID will switch automatically to your Platform MID.
Final Step: Confirmation
If everything is done correctly, both the Connect Board and your SmartPOS App will show a success screen. Your terminal is now linked and ready to accept payments directly through your POS!
