Creating a Merchant Account

After successfully creating a lead, the next crucial step in onboarding a merchant with Tap is to convert the lead into an actual merchant account. This guide outlines the process and parameters involved in creating a merchant account.

Lead Conversion

The lead you've created serves as the foundation for the merchant account. Once the lead is established, it can be transformed into a full-fledged merchant account with more detailed information.

Connect API

In order for the lead created to be converted, you must use the connect API in order to finish all the missing onboarding data. The connect API will return a URL that you should direct the lead to in order to complete the onboarding process.

Merchant Response

Upon successful conversion of a lead into a merchant account, you will receive a response that includes a unique Merchant ID and other relevant details.
